I have thought of writing this article helping you not to miss an important tweet from any of your friends or brands that you like.
A small introduction to Twitter Lists. You can create any list that you wish and add into that list people that you follow on Twitter. So when you are on a train, on the road in a meeting you can always open your twitter lists and view their tweets.
I just wanted to let you know that i use several 3rd applications on my mobile phone and my desktop app. One of them is TweetDeck for desktop and for mobile is Echofon ( which was introduced to me by John Kouphou on Twitter ). On all my apps and web based everything is synced. Just for you to know that once you create on Twitter your lists they will not disappear.
Let’s start creating our lists.
Go To Twitter.com
Go to ‘Me’ To View Your Account:
On the left hand side click on ‘Lists’
Click On The Button ‘Create List’
When you click on the ‘Create List’ Button you will have the below options. You can make your lists public so all your followers can view your list and subscribe to it or you can make it private so only you view your lists. The choice is yours, public or private. For example i created now another list, which is Brands iLike and made it Public.
After you have created your list you can search for users and add them to your list. You can edit and remove it any time. Just remember when you create a list and add somebody in it, the other user will get notified that you entered him into that list. So don’t create a list ‘People i don’t like’ and add your boss there, the next day you will be unemployed 🙂
Below for example i have my timeline, mentions, messages and friends.
On my second page as you can see i have other lists as well, Digital News, Football, Digital People. You can create any list that you wish.
Because it’s impossible to add all your followers to a list in one day, you can always add people as you read your timeline on Twitter. For example you saw a tweet from a friend, you can click on the profile ( like i did on @BBCNewsUs ) and add them to a list that you wish.
Now you are set with your Twitter Lists. You can view an article from Official Twitter Blog Here as well.
